It’s Volunteer Appreciation Month and FIRST BC wants to feature some of our amazing volunteers! First up is Simon Erlic, an alumni of FTC 11589 – Fusion from St. Michael’s University School.
Simon started volunteering with FIRST BC even before he graduated high school, helping with outreach events and other activities. As an Engineering student at the University of Victoria, he made time to help wtih local events filling a variety of roles from Field Reset to A/V Technician. This year, he helped run the FIRST Tech Challenge Kick-off event in September.
When asked about volunteering with FIRST, here’s what Simon had to say.
“I think that my time competing on an FTC team helped to spark my interest in STEM, and technology as a whole, leading me to the engineering program that I’m in today. I really love what the FIRST program does for kids who want to learn more about robotics, STEM, and technology, and so I wanted to help make FIRST in BC get even better.“
Thanks Simon!
