British Columbia’s first ever FIRST Robotics Competition will be in Victoria at the Save-In Foods Memorial Arena on March 13-16, 2018.

The FIRST Robotics Competition (“FRC”) is a world-wide robotics competition that challenges high school students to work alongside adult mentors to design, build and program a 150 pound robot in just six weeks. Teams work together in alliances to accomplish a new game challenge every year. As important as the robot and the game are, however, the real challenge for FRC teams is to engage in their community to support education, science and technology. For more information, visit: www.firstinspires.org

FRC has been inspiring and challenging people for over 25 years. There are currently more than 3,000 teams and 160 competitions taking place around the world. While BC teams have taken part for almost 15 years, this will be the first competition hosted in British Columbia. Twenty teams from across BC will be joined by teams from Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, California and Mexico as they compete to qualify for the FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas.
