Designing a Lift
October 25, 2019 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
FreeThe University of Victoria is hosting a series of workshops to help FIRST Tech Challenge teams learn the skills for designing, building and programming robots. Most of the workshops will be lead by FIRST alumni who are current UVic students.
Does your team want to stack Skyblocks on the foundation? This workshop will cover a variety of different mechanisms that can be used to lift game elements up and down. Find out about linear slides, scissor lifts, and more.
We’ll have working models for some of the lifts that you can try out to help you narrow down your choice.
The workshops will be held at the University of Victoria on Friday afternoons from 4:30 to 6:00pm. Please register for the sessions so we can update you if there’s a last minute room change. This workshop will be held in room B215 of the Engineering Lab Wing (ELW) building.
We plan on live streaming each workshop on the FIRST Robotics BC YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjqJ09AW-_NL0e1OKSSqVNA
Students should register individually rather than as a team. Please register for in person attendance or live stream at: https://forms.gle/hYSxzo4JGQtixdCY7
FIRST events are free and open to the public.
