CAD Assemblies

October 4, 2019 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

The University of Victoria is hosting a series of workshops to help FIRST Tech Challenge teams learn the skills for designing, building and programming robots. Most of the workshops will be lead by FIRST alumni who are current UVic students.

The workshops will be held at the University of Victoria on Friday afternoons from 4:30 to 6:00pm. The room changes depending on the topic. Please register for the sessions so we can update you if there’s a last minute room change.

This week, we are in the Engineering Lab Wing ( ELW B215).

This workshop will introduce three different options for CAD software.  The hands-on demo will be in OnShape and show how to use  a virtual kit of parts to design your robot. CAD drawings can be included in your engineering notebook and can contribute to several of the judged awards.

For this workshop, we’ll be using OnShape.  Here’s the link if you want to check it out in advance and create your own ID.

We plan on live streaming each workshop on the FIRST Robotics BC YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjqJ09AW-_NL0e1OKSSqVNA

Students should register individually rather than as a team. Please register for in person attendance or live stream at: https://forms.gle/fvgwP5TN9eLtf5tK8
